Track Premiere: Citric Dummies – ‘Trapped in a Parking Garage’

Citric Dummies

Get ready for some dumb shit. That’s what Citric Dummies pride themselves on. These Minneapolis garage punks have been lowering the IQs of their listeners since the release of their critically unnoticed album Life is So Horrifying in 2016. They’re still fresh off the release of their album Zen and the Arcade of Beating Your Ass which just dropped this past November, but they’re not stopping now. Today we’re exclusively announcing release of their new four-song EP Trapped in a Parking Garage, which is out on Feel It Records on August 9.

Today, they’re also debuting the lead single and title-track off the new EP. With a sound like a dirtier, grittier Hives, this track is bursting with the spastic energy of a child who had too much sugar. The story behind it is absolutely bonkers, but I’ll let the band describe it.

“This song is an autobiographical account of smoking salvia divinorum for hours in the science museum parking garage and the terror when realizing the doors were shut and locked, entombing me within a completely beige hotel for automobiles,” explains the band’s singer and bassist Deuce Brickenson. “Eventually, I removed my clothes and slept in a PT cruiser convertible. I was awakened by armed guards escorting a pterosaur fossil with three intact cervical vertebrae. No charges were filed, but the drug has since been banned in 29 states (and the territory of Guam).”
