Fans of Santa Rosa, California punk act Decent Criminal will want to check out the new project, Endorphins, made up of Decent Criminal members Tristan and Jesse. But don’t expect the exact same sound. Endorphins focuses on making distorted pop songs with elements of electronic music and ’90s rock mixed in. Having just formed in July of this year, the duo are working on recording and setting up their first shows as a band.
Today, the duo are debuting their latest single “Slang,” a dynamic blend of grunge and pop that perfectly encapsulates the great music of the ’90s with growling guitars and delightful hooks. “In the wake of Decent Criminal ending, having just recently moved to Los Angeles, Jesse and I decided we needed to keep it rolling,” explains Tristan. “So we spent six months putting together ideas, jamming freestyles, and started endorphins, stylistically picking up where Decent Criminal left off and where I was leaving off as a songwriter and also collaborating more together with the fresh start.”
