Brighton punk glam rockers Faeser pack a punch, gaining a reputation for live shows with a lot of aggression tempered with vulnerable moments. Made up of vocalist Jessica James, lead guitarist Willow Simpson, rhythm guitarist Emia Demir, bassist Matthew Sherren, and drummer Nathan Hayward, the band have had the honor of sharing stages with Cassyette at Concorde 2 in Brighton and Dear Tash at The Social, London. Now they’re releasing their debut EP In The Box of Heaven Pictures.
Today, the band are debuting their sophomore single, “Revelations,” from the upcoming EP. While the track has a fierce punk energy, it’s hardly just all power. Rather, the band know when to use restraint to really amp up the aggressive parts of the song.
“Revelations” is our biggest statement as a band yet and one of our favourite tracks to play,” say the band about the track. “The recording has such a chaotic, live feel to it, which was important to us as we are, first and foremost, a live band.
“It serves as a sort of introduction to this world of ‘grunge sleaze’ that we have created; it is as reflective as it is pornographic, and as faithful as it is tempting.
“Revelations” is a lighter note in the wider project (our debut EP In The Box of Heaven Pictures). It serves as a moment of pure fun and chaos in an otherwise melancholic story that centres heavily on loss.”
