Track Premiere: Gavin Chappell-Bates – ‘Incomplete’

Gavin Chappell-Bates

Vegan indie-alternative-pop-rocker and animal rights activist from Cambridgeshire, England, Gavin Chappell-Bates, is ready to unleash something that’s incomplete. Having been featured on Tom Robinson’s show on BBC 6 Music and Janice Long’s show on BBC Radio 2 and having played such major venues and festivals as Cambridge’s Big Weekend, Strawberry Fair, Homegrown, Subterranean at Cambridge Corn Exchange, The Rescue Rooms (Nottingham), Hoxton Bar and Sebright Arms (London), Norwich Arts Centre and The Portland Arms (Cambridge), Chappell-Bates’ stock is definitely on the rise.

Today, the artist is debuting the single “Incomplete,” the second single off the artist’s upcoming album No Cages. A smart and powerful post-hardcore ragers, “Incomplete” has the energy to knock you off your feet and take you for one hell of a wild ride.

‘Incomplete’ began life as a couple of scribbled lines of lyrics that I wrote down when I went on my first solo tour back in 2016,” explains Chappell-Bates about the new single. “These became the first two lines of the song: ‘There’s a piece of me missing when you’re not there A ghost that walks beside me’ That tour was the first time I’d spent significant time away from my partner (now wife) since we’d got together and I felt a hole within me that I couldn’t explain. When it came to writing songs for my new album, I expanded upon that idea.”
