Track Premiere: Green/Blue – ‘Day Gone’

Ahead of their second LP, Offering, Minneapolis’ Green/Blue are revealing their new track, “Day Gone.”

The band—comprised of Jim Blaha (Blind Shake/Shadow In The Cracks), Annie Sparrows (Soviettes/Awesome Snakes), and Dan Henry (Sgt 6 Assault/Dummies/France Has The Bomb)—call the album a “perfect cerebral soundtrack for these endless, draining days,” offering a balance between brisk, break-neck guitar patterns, a minimalist backbeat, always channeling a certain euphoric tension they yearn for in their music. The sound doesn’t cling to any of their prior bands’ styles, rather kicking through the glass into a new dimension of icy pop precision.

Blaha chats more about the upcoming record:

“We recorded this onto an eight track tape machine in the basement. Some of the songs we tried to push into a much poppier direction than we have gone before… then we’d feel guilty and write something darker. It was an interesting process…”
