Dark punk band Head Cut are sharing the first single, “Insect Secret,” from their upcoming LP, and you can take a listen right here at New Noise.
The band came together as a group as longtime friends who’ve played in bands like Catholic Spit, Massenger, Detoxi, Sweet Reaper, The Fucking Wrath, and more. The stars finally aligned, and they found themselves jamming with one another by May 2021. The songs came together quickly, and Head Cut was born.
The band members blend sounds from their past bands, creating something new that still sounds familiar. The tracks are dark, dancy, slow, and fast, with some sung in English, some in Spanish, constantly pushing the envelope and riding the line between British post-punk and SoCal punk.
They headed into the Captains Quarters with Armand John Anthony in November 2021 and laid down nine tracks for their debut, self-titled, full-length record. Head Cut also partnered with Dune Altar, Naked Time Tapes, and Bat Cave Productions, so the new Head Cut LP will see a physical form on vinyl, cassette, and CD, along with a digital release on streaming platforms, due out summer 2022.

Vocalist Sasha gives a bit of insight about the track and what listeners can expect, ““Let’s meet on an un-ravaged jungle floor where humans are not the protagonist.”
