East Coast-based heavy metallers High Reeper have unveiled their latest track, “Broken Upon The Wheel,” from their upcoming album Renewed By Death. The record is scheduled for release on October 4 through Heavy Psych Sounds.
Listen to the track here:
“‘Broken Upon The Wheel’ was the first song we finished on the new album, and after playing it live, we quickly realized these new songs were going to be very different than our previous efforts,” the band say. “‘Broken’ is about the mind finding peace when the body cannot. It opened the door for the underlying theme of record, which is supposed to ask heavy questions alongside heavy music—is death something to fear or a new beginning?”
The upcoming album showcases the band’s new direction towards the early days of American groove and heavy metal. The album was produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Shane Trimble at the band’s newly established studio, Sletner Sound, located in Wilmington, Delaware. Justin Di Pinto also handled the duties of engineering.
