We’ve got a must-listen for indie punk fans right here. Integra Pink have only been around since 2022, but they’re fast rising stars in the Southern California indie rock scene. The greatest punk bands are the ones that create diverse sounds and Leo Mendez, Bardo Mendez, Andre Campos, and Nick Jauregui of Integra Pink do just that with their fusion of rock, punk, new wave, and at times even something like cumbia into their music.
Today, they’re debuting their latest track called “Lockjaw” off their upcoming EP that’s coming out soon on the under-appreciated gem of a label Wiretap Records. The track will be streaming everywhere this Friday, but you get to hear a sneak peek a few days early. This song has the quirky, smart energy of indie rock with a catchy, alt-rock rhythm, and soaring, Pixies-esque melodies. This is honestly one of the most unique songs you’ll have heard in a while and promises a full-length that’s definitely going to be worth checking out.
“The story behind ‘Lockjaw’ came from a frustrating and disappointing end to a relationship that felt a little too good to be true,” explains the band about their track. “Although the title isn’t referenced in the song, we felt it was the perfect word to illustrate what the song means.”
