Track Premiere: Morning Eagle – ‘Blackberry Blue’

Morning Eagle, the alt-rock project of singer-songwriter Nick May, is set to release Fantasy Parade on September 24 through Michigan-based Setterwind Records.

New Noise is excited to present an exclusive premiere of May’s latest track from the album, “Blackberry Blue,” available to stream below:

May started Morning Eagle in 2018 while working in Philadelphia as a producer for acts such as Breaklite, UgLi and The Valets. After relocating to Long Beach, California in 2019, May spent the time in lockdown crafting what would become the Morning Eagle demos. On January 1, 2021, May self-released the Slide EP, which later arrived as a limited-edition cassette via Setterwind Records.

May’s follow up record, Fantasy Parade, was written and recorded immediately after Slide was released and encompasses more of the songwriter’s holistic vision for what his music could be and how it should be curated.

On the track’s release, May states:

“‘Blackberry Blue’ is the end result of the emotions I had while making this record. It’s the freeing feeling of coming out of a depressive episode and start to feel like yourself again.”
