Teen pop singer Naomi Jane is a rising sensation, gracing stages across the country from New York to California. She’s also worked in theater, film, and television, showing herself to be a multi-talented artist, performing on stage as Kathy in Singing in the Rain and as Jack Kelly in Newsies, and also appearing on PBS Kids shows and the award-winning series Assisted Living.
Today, she’s debuting her latest single “Little Miss,” which she wrote herself and which won the 2023 International Songwriting Competition in the teen category. It’s a delicate piano ballad that addresses issues of girl-on-girl bullying and social ostracization.
“This song is a rebellion against the hate and judgements girls put on each other driven by their desperation to get the attention of a boy,” she explains. “We should be building each other up, not tearing each other apart. It feels like crap to be hated over a situation that was completely out of your control, especially when your only intention was to make sure that nobody got hurt.”
