“Pipeline Punch” follows the release of the album’s lead single, “The World Ends With You.”
On the track’s release, the band states:
“‘Pipeline Punch’ is, in essence, about the anxiety and franticness of the album writing process. The constant stress on yourself to be perfect can lead you to be hypercritical of your every move, and it can sometimes put a strain on your relationship with your bandmates.
This song culminates in overcoming that—it’s about raging at your mistakes and laughing about it later.”
