Seattle-based metalcore quartet Nova Fracture are no stranger to the emotive side of heavy music—the band have been making waves as a rising star act in their region with music that explores mental health, free will, and the ultimate triumph of the human spirit. With plenty of mosh parts, of course.
Their latest single “The Horizons” (which we are thrilled to premiere!) will sound familiar to fans of As I Lay Dying, Haste The Day, and Miss May I, but never sounds anything short of original. Vocalist Nick Oswald is equally at home singing soaring cleans and vicious screams, with plenty of riffs from dual guitarists Austin Grey and Darin Emery to keep the song as interesting as it is heavy. The rhythm section, comprised of Traian Manloescu (bass) and Derek Eddins (drums), provides a low end for the song that perfectly compliments the breakdowns and hook.
“The Horizons” is the debut track from forthcoming EP Stranded Souls (slated for release later this year). The band have hinted at some heavier-than-hell guest spots and features … and if this first single is any indication, you’re going to want to keep an eye for what is sure to be one of the best metalcore releases of the year.
