Ohms is the solo project of Melbourne-based composer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist Lachlan P. Rother, who formerly headed up the stellar synth-punk outfit U-Bahn. He’s also worked as the current guitarist of post-punk outfit GLASNOST, and drummer of High Control Group. Over the past five years, he’s built up an eclectic collection of recordings that span a wide array of genres whilst still maintaining Rother’s experimental spirit.
Today, the project is debuting the track “No Chance,” a dark-pop meets post-punk track with high energy and slick production that marries artistry with catchy hooks. The angular rhythm starts and stops suddenly, creating a sense of unease that perfectly reflects the song’s themes of uncertainty and instability. The track demonstrates that Rother is a smart and creative mind and that Ohms is going to grow in popularity. Check out the track below.
