A Chicago transplant originally from the White Mountains of Salt Lake City, singer-songwriter Regan Ashton is unfurling two new singles for label Paper Street Cuts on September 20.
Listen to “Tumbleweed” and “Tired About It” below:
Ashton spent his teenage years and early adulthood bouncing around to different bands before starting the group Problem Daughter, which he has been in for 12 years. When he’s not haunting bookstores or befriending rats in his alleyway, he’s living in Ravenswood, Chicago with his two cats.
On the release of “Tumbleweed” and “Tired About It,” Ashton states:
“These two songs I’ve had kicking around for a couple of years. I decided to dust them off after committing to a new album, which I haven’t finished or even named yet.
The singles were recorded at Rigby Roads Studios in Salt Lake City, where a few friends of mine brought with them their many different talents which is what elevated these tracks from bare-bones acoustic jingles to the multi-instrument country tunes they are today. I really couldn’t have done it without them.”
