Rad Girlfriend Records are releasing the debut seven-inch from The Boreouts in April.
Rad Girlfriend Records says, “Detroit has a long-standing tradition of being the home of raw, high-octane rock ‘n’ roll, and The Boreouts debut single, Do Your Scam b/w Tightrope, is a blistering two-song attack that fuses classic garage rock energy with punk urgency, all delivered with the kind of grit that only Detroit’s underground can provide.”
The Boreouts are comprised of contributors to Detroit’s punk, garage, and ska scenes, including Jason Navarro (The Suicide Machines, Hellmouth, Break Anchor) on vocals and guitar, Ko Melina (The Dirtbombs) on bass, and John Bunkley (Gangster Fun) on keyboards.
“This record is equal parts low fi garage and punk, delivered with the ferocity you’d expect from a lineup this stacked,” adds Rad Girlfriend.
Navaro says, “This is (our) first recording ever. It was so cool to finally hear what we sounded like. Also so exciting for me to be in a band with these other three inspiring humans. Viva La Detroit”
