San Francisco-based indie act The Last Gray Wolf present their new track “Kentucky Telephone,” the first single from their upcoming EP.
Listen to the track here:
The Last Gray Wolf are the brainchild of Kentucky native Conor Gleeson who fuse West Coast mysticism with a raw wave of analog fuzz and heartbreak melody. Conor teams up with Jason Roberts of Spoon for the production and mixing that mixes cinematic indie rock with analog psychedelia. The new song was composed on the side of a highway in Lake Tahoe, California. It deals with the theme of slow-burning emotion, the reflection on personal identity, loss, and the quiet tragedies that we endure to fit in life.
Conor Gleeson shares his thoughts:
“I wrote it after changing my number during a rough period at work. It seemed small, but it felt like erasing a version of myself. The song is about that — losing your tether and wondering what it costs.”
