Vancouver’s Tiger Really are an emo/indie band that gets a little bit jazzy, making for a unique sound. Formed by lead vocalist Lian Shao in 2021, the band is gearing up for their new LP Swan Sting, their first release from Counter Intuitive Records.
Today, Tiger Really are their first single off of Swan Sting called “Dry Heave.” Filled with quirky, twangy guitar riffs and vulnerable, personal lyrics, it’s a reminder that indie and emo are big tent genres that can do a lot of different things. The song faces hard truths head-on, delving into the yearning feeling and restlessness that comes with realizing you aren’t where you wanted to be in your life and your dreams may never be fulfilled. While that’s a bit of a downer topic, over the course of the track, the music really allows a cathartic emotional release to bring you to a more positive place. Check out the track below.
