Formed in 2017 and taking their band name from an old Rites of Spring track called “All Through a Life,” the melodic post-hardcore quintet is releasing their debut album Leverage the Tides on November 8. Centered around the dynamic between singer/guitarist Joey Vesley and guitarist Joel Grimes, who have played together since the early 2000s, the band are building a name for themselves with their balance of power, aggression, and anthemic hooks.
Today, they’re debuting the first single off their upcoming album, a track called “Sold My Soul.” “‘Sold My Soul’ is about trade-offs and decision-making in life,” Vesely explains about the track. “Sometimes we reap what we sow and we get it wrong, but our mistakes don’t have to define us.” The track has the experimental style of a Fugazi track, but with a clear sense of pop-melody like if Dave Grohl took over as Fugazi’s new frontman. It’s angular, powerful, and yet easily accessible with its pop elements. Check out the track below.
