Wenches return July 11 with their second full-length album Stupid Sick following up 2021’s highly praised Effin’ Gnarly. Recorded by Carl Byers (Idiot, Graveripper, Usurp Synapse) and mastered by Don Fury (Quicksand, Helmet, Sick of It All), Stupid Sick is a full-throttle rock ‘n’ roll ripper of the highest caliber. If you love Motorhead, MC5, Dead Boys, and The Stooges, this is the adrenaline shot your heart and ears have been looking for.
With two of the four members having been from former notable Midwestern noise punks Racebannon and Medusa, the heaviness has been turned up and the dynamics dialed in more than on previous output.
Special guest stars on the album include the legendary Chad Price, vocalist of ALL, Drag the River, A Vulture Wake as well as the versatile Jonathan Newby from bands Brazil, JC Autobody and heavy supergroup Fixation Arc.
But, before Stupid Sick sees release via The Ghost Is Clear Records (CD), Already Dead Tapes (cassette), and Master Kontrol Audio/Sunken Temple/Small Hand Factory/Tokyo Fist (vinyl), the band unveil “Boneless” via a 2025 sampler from TGICRECS.
The label also has new music on the horizon from The Caution Children, Art Star, Nuclear Dudes, Stress Palace, King Slender, Norse, and Pretty Baby. The sampler, which sees digital release today, has about 30 tracks of authentic underground sounds from salt of the earth humans who look to connect with like minds through this game of vibrations.
Look for it here.
