Track Premiere: Worlds Scariest Police Chases – ‘Ain’t No Neckin’ on the New Old Mill’

Worlds Scariest Police Chases

Formed in 2010, Pittsburgh’s Worlds Scariest Police Chases have gained a reputation over the years with their riff-heavy punk and biting social commentary. The pandemic brought a number of personal losses and lineup shifts, but the band have emerged victorious with their upcoming album Tell My Mom and Dad I Love My Mom, which is out September 26 on Say-10 Records.

Today, the band are debuting their latest single off the album called “Ain’t No Neckin’ on the New Old Mill,” which finds the band pushing the sonic envelope while still managing to hold on to the vestiges of melody. Pulling from everything from ’80s emo to 2000s screamo to modern hardcore, this is a slamming, loud, angry track with a surprising amount of heart and a lot of energy.

“We didn’t set out to write a dark record, life just kinda forced our hand,” the band explain about the song. “If you’re feeling like everything’s terrible and pointless, congrats, you’re not alone. This album’s for anyone screaming into the void and hoping the echo sounds like a singalong. It’s loud; it’s messy; it’s probably not gonna fix anything, but hey, neither is that online therapy your insurance doesn’t cover.”
