Brit pop-punks Slackrr have just released their new single “We Are” from their upcoming album out in November, and we reckon you need to check it out pronto!
Slackrr are one the U.K.’s hardest-working bands—in just four years, they’ve worked to earn themselves support slots with the likes of The Bottom Line, Sonic Boom Six, PKEW! PKEW! PKEW!, Mest, Spunge, and Ducking Punches, headline slots at the Isle of Wight Festival, coverage from Kerrang!, Rock Sound, Vive Le Rock, and internationally from New Noise and a plethora of U.K. radio stations.
Not only that, but they continue to work hard in keeping the pop-punk genre alive and kicking, moving forward, without forgetting about and paying homage to the past.
Their latest single, “We Are,” is a prime example: fast and hooky, with a memorable chorus, exactly how pop-punk should be. The emo classics of days gone by are remembered here too, with a layered bridge a la Where You Want to Be era Taking Back Sunday.
With offerings like this, it’s no surprise Slackrr are selling out clubs in the U.K. on their own in anticipation of their second album out in just over a month. The real question is how soon will they be playing to capacity audiences in much larger venues all over the world.
