The history of ADD/C goes back to 1999 on the campus of University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. Guitarist/vocalist Daniel, bassist Grady, drummer Cole, and second guitarist Harry who was added later, have been making a name for themselves ever since in the “Region Rock” scene of the southern United States. The band have never broken up officially, but spent a decade focusing on family, careers, and education before the pandemic slowed them down and gave them time to focus on a new record. The band started writing together remotely in 2020 and got together in 2021 in Bloomington, IN to record what would later become Ordinary Souls, which is due out March 29 from Let’s Pretend Records.
“Our new album ‘Ordinary Souls’ is the culmination of 25 years of friendship and a collective existential dread,” say the band. “Econ 101 is a dance tune about the dismal reality of the economic façade in these Divided States.“
Today, ADD/C is premiering their video for the single “Econ 101” from the upcoming album. The song is a classic punk style with gorgeous melodies and hooky choruses to create a perfect punk formula. The video uses found footage from old B-movies, cartoons, and one Gorton’s Fisherman commercial to create a fun visual collage that perfectly compliments the song. Check out the video below.
You can preorder “Ordinary Souls” from Let’s Pretend Records.
