Since the name The Steve Miller Band was already taken, U.K.-based artists Steven Millar dubbed what started as his solo acoustic project Arms & Hearts. Since the project’s founding in 2015, the band have built a following with their debut album The Distance Between and have toured with such big name acts as Nervus and Chris Farren. Now working as a duo with drummer Sam Johnson, the project is gearing up for the release of their second album The Future is Not Bright which is due out October 10 through Thousand Islands Records (Canada), Mt Crushmore Records (U.S.), Never Meant Records (IE) and UTB Manchester (U.K.).
Today, Arms & Hearts are premiering the video for their second single off the new album called “Bottom Line.” With its strong bass line supporting the jangly guitars and catchy hooks, it’s an absolute bop.
“Bottom Line is about the realisation we spend the majority of our limited time on earth working jobs that generally do nothing to improve the human experience and only to make money for people who already have too much money,” explains Millar about the song. “Cheery isn’t it? It does have a pretty good guitar solo, though, if I do say so myself.”
The video sees Millar rebelling against office culture, culminating in the destruction of some office equipment in a cathartic rejection of corporate culture. Check out the video below.
