Bomb a Lil Joy are the exciting new collaboration from Eugene Robinson (Oxbow, Bunuel, Whipping Boy, etc.) and Christian McKenna (Pyunaka, End Christian, Dear Hughes). Born out of a dream that McKenna had about Robinson singing for the project, the two came together to create something steeped in electronica yet wholly unique. Now the project’s debut album, Baby Blue, is due out on December 5 from Translation Loss Records, and we have a little taste in store.
Today, Bomb a Lil Joy are debuting the video for their track “Unpaid Attorney,” a noisy, disjointed, chaotic piece of experimental electronica that hammers its bizarre feeling home with an experimental video that reflects the same sense of chaos.
“There are no active words or sounds to get people to understand that Bomb a Lil Joy will hit just a little bit differently than whatever else they’ve listened to before, now, or in the foreseeable future,” says Robinson. “When music comes to you in a dream, like all of this came to Christian, it deserves a rendering that was/is also dreamlike … and with G-d as my witness, that’s precisely what I did.”
