Punk band Burnt Tapes have come a long way from their early days as teenagers jamming in a basement in Athens, Greece. Now a London-based band, the band have played over 200 shows across 20 countries, including the U.S., U.K., Europe, and Japan, sharing stages with the likes of Spanish Love Songs, Flatliners, Red City Radio, MakeWar, and The Menzingers. Known for their unique style of “regret punk,” their big, anthemic hooks are earning them fans all over the world. Now they’re getting ready to follow-up their 2019 debut LP, Never Better, with their sophomore album, New Lungs, on August 8 via Wiretap Records / Lockjaw Records and Nasty Cut Record.
“It’s been a long time since our first record, we’ve had a pandemic in between, and that kinda does things to a person,” says Phil G. of Burnt Tapes. “We wanted to push harder on all the good things about Never Better, but also bring some thing new to the table, and we’re excited to share this first single with everyone.”
Today, Burn Tapes are debuting the video for their single “MOTHERSGUILT” off the upcoming album. With frenetic energy, satisfying hooks, and a perfect marriage of melody and power, “MOTHERSGUILT” is a pop-punk gem that will plant itself firmly in your brain long after the song is over. The music video features footage of the band exploring the world on tour, making for a fascinating showcase of their life on the road. Check out the video below.
