Video Premiere: Cathedral Ceilings – ‘Nevermind the Helicopters’

Cathedral Ceilings

Ralph Malanga (guitars and vocals), Nick D’Amore (drums), and Tom Diello (bass and backing vocals) formed New Jersey power trio Cathedral Ceilings in the late-2010s. All three of them had a history of playing in other bands, and the band started as a side-project for Malanga of the band Stuyvesant. Cathedral Ceilings’ sophomore album La La La…Whatever! is out tomorrow on Dromedary Records.

Today, they’re debuting their latest video of the album for “Nevermind the Helicopters,” an absolute rager that delivers its guitar-heavy rock at an absolutely blistering speed. The surrealist video takes the whole thing to a new level in a bizarre dance of colors and screams.

“The song is frantic and explosive, much like Henry Hill at the climax of Goodfellas—which the lyrics are inspired by,” explains D’Amore, “along with our penchant for quoting the movie incessantly in the tour van. B.A. (Miale, the mad scientist who created the video) did a phenomenal job capturing the off-the-rails spirit of the tune and throwing in some Goodfellas Easter eggs as well.”

Check out the video below.

The album is out tomorrow, and you can preorder it from Dromedary Records. Follow Cathedral Ceilings on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for future updates.
