M.A.D.ness, Coronary’s new LP, is touching down just 16 months after 2023’s breakthrough The Future is Now. The album showcases a band that’s way more energized and agitated than people their age are supposed to be. Despite its paranoid and pissed off subject matter, the album’s 12 songs offer a reminder that hardcore is more fun when it stays punk.
For the uninitiated, Chicago’s Coronary has been together since 2015, released their first seven-inch in 2016, and have been playing shows around the Midwest for nearly a decade.
Today, the band shares the video for “Coronary” from the album. The video features footages captured by Jason Magicks at Reggies in Chicago and incorporates graphics and edits from Wall of Youth. About the song, the band say, “Today is bad, tomorrow’s worse.”
M.A.D.ness becomes available via Rad Girlfriend Records on February 14.
