Seattle punk band Dead Bars have spent over a decade churning out the best in life-affirming hard rock sing-along anthems, drawing comparisons to Japandroids, White Reaper, and Fucked Up. Their new album, All Dead Bars Go to Heaven, is due out on March 21 on Iodine Recordings and promises a series of 10 hook-heavy rock anthems that focus on the theme of heaven and the rewards of a life lived well and virtuously.
Today, the band are debuting the video for the album’s opening track, “I Wanna Be a Ghost,” a catchy power anthem with a brilliantly fun video accompanying it. “I was sitting in my one bedroom apartment doing sadboy shit, when the chorus just came to me,” explains band member C.J. Frederick. “I brought the skeleton track to the band and we labored over this for a long time. Eventually, we landed on this version which resembles the original more than the attempts to improve or fix whatever we felt was lacking. There are ghosts all over All Dead Bars Go To Heaven, and this track gets them bopping.”
