Everyone’s favorite shock-punk maniacs, Dwarves, have been a staple of the punk scene since the mid-1980s, drawing crowds and controversy to them like bees to honey. With over a dozen albums under their belt, they’re certified punk rock royalty at this point. But, while it’s been interesting to see how the band has evolved over the course of four decades, sometimes it’s fun to return to the roots.
Earlier this month, Dwarves put out a special, limited edition picture disc called Sunshine, Lollipops & Rainbows a never-before-released collection of studio recordings from 1989. The collectors’ gem, which was limited to 2500 copies, featured newly resurfaced and remastered tracks, full color gatefold packaging, and a collection of never-before-seen photographs from the band’s early era. But even if you didn’t get a chance to snatch up a copy, you can still have a little taste of the album.
Today, the band are premiering their video for the Sunshine, Lollipops & Rainbows version of their track “Let’s Fuck,” which was later re-recorded for their landmark 1990 album Blood Guts & Pussy. To go with the frantic, gritty hardcore punk track comes a video made up of rare footage of the band from the late-’80s/early-’90s. It’s a celebration of all the dirty, grimy, sleazy fun of punk rock that you won’t want to miss if you’re a Dwarves fan. Check out the video below.
