Vermont-based pop-punk/rock act Flannel Jack is sharing the new lyric video for his song “3 Years,” and you can check it out right here, right now, premiering on New Noise.

Flannel Jack has taken influence from bands like The Story So Far, Driveways, and Belmont, sometimes throwing in bits of hip-hop while sticking mostly to his gritty rock instrumentation.

This is his first time putting out music as a solo act, though it’s surely not his first venture in the industry; Flannel Jack has played bass and guitar for different bands in the greater Boston area and ran an DIY venue out of his basement before COVID hit. Though, after a band breakup, he was pushed to start a new chapter in Northern Vermont.

He was determined to record 3 Years, his full-length record, and would make lengthy drives on snowy roads out to his friend Tristan’s house, and one of those drives is featured as the visual element for the title track’s lyric video. Tristan had the equipment to record stems and set up a DIY vocal booth made of old mattresses and rugs; Pete Zen, from Flannel Jack’s home state of New Jersey, mixed and mastered the songs, out today.

Flannel Jack chats more about the new track:

“I’m stoked to release ‘3 Years’ as my first song because it’s really true to my style. It’s bouncy and emotional. It has some tasteful screams at the end, even a little hip-hop influence. It’s really just a fun song that helps me release some angst and makes me wanna move around to the rhythm.”
