Gus Baldwin, the “singer/songwriter/ex-hippie/part-time punk,” is back. The artist, who generally splits his time between his solo project and his band The Sketch, spans genres from 80s power-pop to 60s psych to 70s proto-punk to 90s indie rock. We recently had the pleasure of premiering the song “Depression” off his solo self-titled record. Well, that self-titled record came out on Friday on Permanent Teeth Records, but Baldwin isn’t done dishing out surprises.
Today, Baldwin is debuting the video for his single “Pesticide Song” off the new album. “Pesticide Song” is a dark, slow, synth-heavy indie rock tune that perfectly compliments the creepy black and white video that features a carousel. It’s an emotional journey into some dark places, but you come out feeling better for it. Check out the video below.
