Today we premiere the new release from Hooked Like Helen with the music video for ‘OCD (these thoughts again),’ an indie rock and post-grunge anthem that explores the struggles of those living with OCD.
The torment of intrusive thoughts, obsessive ruminations, and compulsive rituals that are hallmarks of OCD find a powerful and dynamic voice in Hooked Like Helen’s latest single.
The new track, which captures the autobiographical essence of living with a brain on fire, was co-produced by HLH’s Nikki Stipp and Kevin McCombs, known for his work with Teenage Wrist, Papa Roach, and Royal & The Serpent. The song offers a cinematic quality and an angsty rock edge that marks a new musical era for the band.
Nikki Stipp shares her thoughts on the release:
“Mental Health Awareness is one of the most important platforms for us as a band. This track is meant to be both a conversation starter and a three-minute and 10-second bit of relief for our fans who struggle mentally and emotionally. We write our songs from our own experiences in an attempt to help heal ourselves and others.”
