In the Meantime, a melodic punk band from Boston’s North Shore, are headed to Canada to help make peace with our neighbors to the north. Our friends at Red Scare Industries decided that Trump’s unnecessary trade war with Canada has caused too much bad blood between our two nations, and they’re heading up to Canada to heal those wounds with a big tour called Red Scare Across Canada: 2025.
The eight-show tour will feature Brendan Kelly and the Wandering Birds, Guerrilla Poubelle, Sam Russo, and In the Meantime, and the four bands put together a special seven-inch for the tour full of previously unreleased songs. In the Meantime were even nice enough to shoot a whole music video for their contribution to the seven-inch, called “Old Gum,” and they’re debuting that video today.
The song is an undeniably catchy pop-punk earworm with hooks galore that will have you dancing and bopping the whole time. The video is an all-out basement dance party full of friends and family that looks like it was a whole lot of fun to make, and it’s just as much fun to watch.
“Having always received loyal support in Canada, In The Meantime is excited to be heading back to Quebec and Ontario this August with the Red Scare Across Canada tour, alongside an international cast of veteran DIY punks,” say the band about the tour. “Our new single, ‘Old Gum’, a celebration of those we’ve all lost.”
