Austin-based anti-pop agitators J’Cuuzi have forged a name for themselves in their local scene and beyond for their irreverent attitude and infectiously catchy lo-fi productions reminiscent of the DIY spirit of early Le Tigre. Today, they’re debuting the video for their latest single “Bad Toy,” which is streaming everywhere tomorrow.
Trading off vocals between co-vocalists Trey Rosenkampff and Gorge Bone, the chaotic glitch-pop anthem finds a dynamic contrast between higher-pitched femme vocals and a deep, dark, rumbling vocal performance. It’s a buzzy, danceable, kitschy track with a bizarre video that perfectly matches the band’s borderline-Dadaist brand of chaos. Check out the video below.
