Guitarist Ben Zamzow shares his thoughts about the writing of the song:

“We played our release show with Brain Cave for our Hex Records split back in February 2023, then woke up the next day and went into the studio to start recording “Crub” immediately. Initially, it was supposed to be another EP… then we wrote some more songs, decided to cut some songs that weren’t up to the KNUB standard, and said “Fuck it, this thing needs to be a long player.” It just felt right. So here we are in 2025, several recording sessions and two years later with a full-on KNUB, “Crub”. We are super grateful and very excited to be working with TGIC, Hex, and Expert Work on the vinyl pressing.“

Zamzow also talks about the album title and art:

“Simply put, “Crub” is the past-tense conjugation of ‘crab’. The horseshoe crab is the living epitome of CRUB, representative of an ancient evolution of timelessness, survival, perseverance, and ultimately transcendence. These themes run throughout the album and reflect in the lyrical content. Also, just look at that fucker! Pretty badass for a bottom-feeder if you ask us.”

Crub is scheduled to be released on June 20. The new record is meant to be an expansion of their earlier two releases.
