Larry Yes about his beginnings:

“My first memories as a human are with her band in the practice room. I would take naps in the bass drum on a pillow and make art while the band practiced. Growing up in the ’80s with a rock ‘n’ roll mother and lifestyle had many challenges. My father left when I was 1. There were drugs everywhere, and we lived in poverty, constantly moving, so I was never able to settle into a school or community fully and had to learn how to take care of myself at a very young age. Despite the hardships, there was also an amazing community of artists and free thinkers surrounding me.”

Everyone On This Planet Is Family carries a message of hope in a time of fear. It features eight songs that shine the light on our shared interconnectedness as the human race and a call to our collective need to live in harmony and celebrate our differences and strengths. The album’s message is simple: “We are all one. Love each other. Love yourself. Love your other. Love each self.”

The record release parties will happen as a month long art show and performance opening on Friday, May 2 from 5-9 p.m. at the Purple Door Gallery in Portland, OR. It’ll feature art from the album design and featured works inspired and created during the process of making the album with music videos for all eight songs and a subversive sound bath experience with the ear, eye, and heart in mind. The live performance will occur May 3 from 7-10 p.m. at the Leaven Community Center in Portland, OR with a performance from the Comic Tones Research Trio.
