Tacoma, Washington punk trio Let Me Downs formed in 2019 and have been making a name for themselves in the Northwest and beyond since the release of their powerhouse debut album Tacoma is for Lovers in 2021. Now they’ve teamed up with California-based Felony Records for the release of their sophomore album entitled North by Southwest, which is due out on January 23. Recorded at Razors Touch Studios in El Cajon, CA, the new album was engineered and produced by Chad Ruiz (Urethane, Skipjack), and mastered by Scott Hallquist (Ten Foot Pole, DC Fallout).
The first single off the new album, “One More Round,” came out back in December and, today, they’re debuting the lyric video for the latest single off the album called “Broken Promises.” With a sound reminiscent of the early-2000s era of pop-punk and emo, it’s a power-packed punch of emotion that’s likely to hit anyone who grew up in that era with a sweet burst of nostalgia.
“I wrote this song about a past relationship,” explains bassist and vocalist Paul Levesque. “It’s basically about letting your guard down and letting someone in. Putting everything you have and all your trust into a person and at the end of the day you end up getting burned”
