Seattle alt-rock quartet Lovely Colours came to life when longtime friends Devin Damitio (vocals, guitar) and James Rosales (vocals, bass) moved from Juneau, Alaska to Seattle, Washington to pursue their musical dreams and connected with Patrick May (guitar) and Steven Bingham (drums). The resulting project has become known for their shimmering melodies over infectious beats. Today, they’re debuting the video for their newest track, “No Angel,” a song with a delicate, gorgeous melody that perfectly contrasts the driving rhythm of the track.
“‘No Angel’ is about craving someone you know might not be good for you, but you’re going for it anyway,” explains vocalist and guitarist Devin Damitio. “It’s that magnetic, reckless energy you feel in your body right before your mind catches up.”
“We wanted the ‘No Angel’ video to feel like a backstage pass into our world,” adds bassist and vocalist James Rosales. “It’s raw, a little chaotic, and captures the highs of live performance alongside the quieter in-between moments. Cory (Ingram) really helped us tell that story—We just let the camera roll and stayed honest.”
