Lisbon, Portugal’s rock quintet Miss Lava have blazed across stages worldwide and shared stages with the likes of Queens Of The Stone Age, Slash, Graveyard, Ufomammut, Greenleaf, Kyuss Lives!, Fu Manchu, Valient Thorr, Entombed, Truckfighters, and a whole lot more. Now they’re gearing up for the release of their fifth album, Under a Black Sun, which promises to be darker and more emotionally heavy then their previous material. “It’s a pretty intense record,” boasts the band’s singer Johnny Lee. “Our life experiences over the past years have made us delve into a darker matter. We explored new territories and had a blast creating this album.” The album is due out on April 25 from Small Stone Recordings.
Today, they’re debuting the lyric video for their new single off the album called “Dark Tomb Nebula.” A seven-minute epic with heavy prog elements, the song’s space themes make for a truly trippy and rockin’ experience.
“This song is a metaphor for life as a journey through space—a stormy Jovian existence filled with adversity,” explains Lee. “Though we manage to shine in immense darkness, some certainties remain: We are born in light; we walk a turbulent and ever-darkening path, surrounded by black holes that threaten to consume us, until we reach our inevitable end.”
