You might remember Ontario-based glam-punk band Nameless Friends from last year when we interviewed them regarding their vendetta against Canadian anti-LGBTQ+ politician Scott Moe. Never ones to back down from a political fight, this fierce band, who go by numbers instead of names, are back to take on the leader of the United States with their hyper-relevant new double single.
Today, the band are debuting a short film they made for their two new singles “There’s a rapist in the White House” and “Mary.” More than a simple music video, there’s a much bigger story here about generational pain and trauma, domestic abuse, and the atrocities committed by the American government. Yet, through it all, there’s an odd strain of hope for the future that runs through both the music and the overall story of the short film. It’s not just about what’s wrong; it’s about breaking patterns and fighting back. Check out the film below.
