Video Premiere: NETHERLANDS – ‘D.T.A.’

NETHERLANDS

Formed in New York City in 2010 by mutli-instrumentalist Timo Ellis—who has worked with such music icons as Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon, and Cibo Matto—NETHERLANDS is a bit of a hard act to pin down. With long, grinding sludge grooves, an acerbic punk rock ethos, and the wild experimental spirit of the ’00s post-hardcore scene, NETHERLANDS is noisy, yet focused and powerful.

“D.T.A.”—which stands for “Death to America”—is a track off the project’s album Kali Corvette which was released by noise-rock powerhouse Three One G in 2022. The track, which clocks in at over six minutes, is a glitchy noise-rock, spoken-word anthem. Today, the band is premiering the video for “D.T.A.,” a damning video collage edited by Chris Carlone and Timo Ellis highlighting the lowest points in American popular culture to punctuate the track’s angry lyrical missive. Check out the darkly irreverent video below.

Kali Corvette is available from Three One G records. The band’s latest album, SEVERANCE, is available on Bandcamp. Follow NETHERLANDS on Facebook and Instagram for future updates.
