New York’s Nowhere Left are sharing their new video, “Hurt The Same,” and you can stream it right here at New Noise.
The band have carved out a place for themselves in their local rock scene, with mammoth riffs and powerful messaging beneath the surface of their tracks. Singer Dom Delfino says that the band focuses on a community-centered approach around overcoming trauma in every capacity.
“It’s important to build a safe place like that through music,” Delfino says. “Trauma does not show bias. What might be a walk in the park for me could be an unequivocal nightmare for someone else. We just want to bring our sound and our experiences to the table and help others realize they aren’t alone.”
Nowhere Left are eager to continue taking listeners on the journey with them, not only to enjoy some head-bang-inducing bops but to dive into relatable narratives about fighting for ones life against oneself.
A quote from the band provides more insight on the track’s background:
“‘Hurt The Same’ is about a relationship I was in where I was constantly talked down to, degraded, threatened and just in a completely toxic environment that brought me to the point where I didn’t even recognize who I was anymore and how through everything I still loved this person and hung on tight until my breaking point and realizing that whether I stayed or left it would ‘Hurt The Same.’”
