Onelinedrawing have released their new single “’This Is A Warning” along with a music video. The song is from their upcoming album RAINBOWMACHINE. The album will be released on June 18 through Iodine Recordings. The album features songs which were composed in different eras of Jonah Matranga’s life.

Jonah Matranga shares their thoughts:
“‘This Is A Warning’ is, on its face, just a song about freaking the fuck out, not knowing which way is up. Given the state of the world these days, it feels all-too-fitting, and I knew it had to be on the album. That said, the song was written for a character, or as a character, I guess. Someone more troubled than me, really. Someone who’s been through much worse than me and never sought help. I’ve had a book or a movie or a show or something in my head about this person for over 10 years now. We tried to make a short film years ago that didn’t quite work out, and it taught me a lot, and it birthed ‘This Is A Warning.’ That said, I don’t know when the world will get to meet the character more fully, if ever. For now, here’s ‘This Is A Warning’ and at least one more from the album. That one’s called ‘Failures Virgin,’ and it’s a whole other level of madness. I’m grateful to all the voices in my head. They teach me.
“‘This Is A Warning’ showed up years ago. It arrived quickly and simply, felt great immediately, and I knew I was never going to put it on an album without the band I heard in my head made real. When I met Jay, I knew it was the perfect time to try. I’m pretty sure it’s the shortest actual song I’ve ever had on an album in any of the bands. Making the anxious haze with Marcos was the start of a whole new album to sew into the one we’d just made. The creations we made across the miles, especially the way Denver’s guitar collapses into the break, is my favorite thing about collaboration.
“Another thing I love about ‘This Is A Warning’, and what I really tried to express in the video, it’s just that freedom that a fast, loud song gives you to move and behave in all sorts of ways that would seem totally insane out of context. For me, that sort of shouting and shaking in fun, creative ways helps me not fall apart at the inevitable times in life. That’s one of my favorite things about music.”
