Washington D.C.’s Outerloop are a post-punk band with the emphasis on the “punk.” With riffy, raging guitars from guitarist Don Potter supporting the sheer power and outstanding range of bilingual vocalist Taisha Estrada, and rounded out by the frenetic rhythm section of drummer Marty Reisemberg and bassist Francis Beringer, the band are a powerhouse of punk rock fury and post-punk melody. Well-known for their captivating live performances, on September 27, they are releasing their live record on DCxPC Live Records, offering a document of their performance at Distrito Music Fest, a Hispanic Music Festival that’s held every year in D.C.
Today, Outerloop debuting their live video for their song “Rat” which was shot on the roof of the MLK Memorial Library in Washington D.C. With swirling guitar riffs, clever songwriting, and a robust and dynamic vocal performance from Estrada, this is a spirited performance of a truly potent song. If you aren’t in the area to see this band put on one of their celebrated live performances, this video and the upcoming record promise to be the next best thing.
