Video Premiere: Palm Ghosts – ‘Last Chance Kid’

Palm Ghosts
Palm Ghosts share the first track from their second EP release of the year, Masks, which sees release on July 19

On May 10, Nashville post-punk trio Palm Ghosts released their Escape EP via Sweet Cheetah Records and Poptek Records. According to the band, it was the first of four digital EPs they’ll release in 2024, with each rolling up into a double LP called Facades at the end of the year.

Today, the band shares the first song from the second EP, Masks, before it the song hits digital streaming platforms on May 24. According to vocalist/bassist Joseph Lekkas, “Last Chance Kid” is about how “capitalism embodies a motivational speaker and squarely places all the blame on the individual to sure its own liberation from responsibility.”

The eventual Facades, will feature 20 songs that mix genres and moods like no other release in Palm Ghost’s large catalog. The songs will explore topics like religion, cults, love, loss and survival in the modern age. Some with beautiful melodies, some dark and brooding, but 100 percent Palm Ghosts.

The EPs and double LP will have original artwork by the talented Unexpected Specter, who does all of the band’s merch designs.

Masks sees release on July 19. Catch the band on tour this year. All dates are here.
