Chicago death thrash act Ready for Death are sharing their new song “Utopia of War” along with a music video shot and directed by Vito Marchese. The song arrives from their upcoming second LP, Pay With Your Face, which will be released on June 27 through Translation Loss Records.

The band share their thoughts:
“When Drew at Translation Loss first heard this track, he said it reminded him of Planes Mistaken For Stars. This was surprisingly spot-on, considering Dallas originally wrote the music years ago for Swan King, a band he started with Jamie from Planes. That band broke up before they ever used it, but we dug it up and repurposed it as a kind of spiritual sequel to ‘Wasteland of Peace’ from the first record.”
They also add:
“Lyrically, ‘Utopia of War’ takes place in a future of perpetual carnage where humanity is ground into fuel for a self-sustaining, soulless war machine. Picture a warped version of a modern petro-state (like Dubai or Kuwait) but powered by corpses instead of crude. It’s not that hard to imagine, really.”
