Detroit alt-metal trio Riding With Killers are tired of being left on the shelf. The group, which is made up of members of Taproot, Cathercist, Avalon Black, and Wild Fire, released their hard-rocking, 90s infused album Full Circle on December 9 and it seamlessly blends alternative rock, industrial, and nu-metal into a distinctive RWK sound.
Today, they’re debuting their latest video “Novelty” off of Full Circle. It’s a soulful post-grunge ballad with powerful hard-rock guitars that create a slow and wistfully emotional tune. The lyrics use toys as an extended metaphor for feeling a need for more of someone’s attention that they’re not willing to give. The visceral music video draws this out in live-action as frontman Taylor Roberts sees himself as an object wishing for more attention from the object of his own affection, spiraling into an emotional meltdown. Check out the video, directed by Jackson Swan, below.
