Video Premiere: RIG TIME! – ‘Backstab’

Wisconsin duo RIG TIME! are sharing their new video, “Backstab,” and you can take a look right here at New Noise.

The band quickly began touring after they formed, performing across the country in 42 states and becoming known for their explosive live performances. The two performers, vocalist/drummer Bryan W. Fleming and guitarist/bassist Rebecca Fleming, have enough energy to match that of a full band, as they collaboratively tackle vocals, guitar, bass, drums, and synth, fully embracing their magnitude of raw energy and emotion on stage.

RIG TIME!’s self-described “Wisconsin Heavy” sound draws influence from hardcore, doom, nu metal, and other extreme music. The band are also releasing their highly-anticipated follow-up to their 2017 full-length later this year via State of Mind Recordings.

Bryan chats more about the track:

“I address this song further in the liner notes for the 12-inch vinyl for Reborn, but to summarize it, ‘Backstab’ is about specific people who will tear someone apart behind their back for no more reasons than being a bully, but are too cowardly to admit it when they are finally confronted face to face. Derek Dole (Old Ghosts/Dead Hearts) contributed vocals to this track and absolutely slayed it. One of our all time biggest early influences is Dead Hearts, and we have been a big fan of his current band Old Ghosts for a long time as well, so working with Derek was a bucket list item for us.”

Fleming also describes the video, saying he wanted it to have a Fight Club vibe.

We show up in a large underground space, and just get to work. We are also huge wrestling fans, and Timebomb Pro Wrestling clips are heavily featured in the video. They are a great independent promotion from the Fargo, North Dakota area and helped the video achieve the aggressive imagery I wanted to compliment the lyrics
