Video Premiere: Rotting In Dirt – ‘Persecution Fetish’

North Carolina-based metalcore band Rotting In Dirt are sharing their new song and music video “Persecution Fetish” off of their newly released split EP with The Holy Ghost Tabernacle Choir.

The band share their thoughts:

“Persecution Fetish is a song about the victim complex of modern religious zealots who, through all of their social stature and privilege, still act as if their rights are being stripped away when the rest of the functioning world is uninterested in living by their rulebook.  To really boil it down, I guess it’s about freeing oneself from the promise of ‘eternal damnation,’ past the point of mere disbelief, because ‘hell’ doesn’t sound quite as bad as an eternity with people who classically hide their hate behind a guise of so-called love.”

The band was formed in 2018 as a studio project, but it quickly became a more focused work in 2022 which included a solid new lineup. The band then released the debut EP I Am Eating My Shame, through Zegema Beach Records. The release was followed by a successful short tour in 2023.
