Video Premiere: Slow Mass – ‘Freeze Frame’

Slow Mass

Chicago-based, shoegaze-adjacent rock Slow Masshave been churning away for close to a decade and show no signs of slowing down anytime soon. They recently announced their upcoming album Low on Foot, which is due out May 16 from Landland Colportage. We featured their video for another single off the album in our Today’s New Noise segment back in March with the dreamy dance-pop-meets-post-hardcore track “Hogtied.”

Today, they’re debuting the visualizer for another single off the new album called “Freeze Frame.” It’s a haunting indie track that cuts through to your soul with the powerful vocal performance of vocalist Mercedes Webb. And, despite calling it a visualizer, the video is more of a collection of behind-the-scene footage of the creation of the album.

“‘Freeze Frame’ is about the relationship we develop with ourselves over the course of our lives and the pull between accepting who we are and wishing we were someone else,” explains Webb.

Check out the video below.

Low on Foot is out on May 16, and you can preorder it from Landland Colportage. Follow Slow Mass on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter for future updates.
